For the next 30+ days, I will be eating meat, vegetables, healthy fats, fruits and nuts. I will not be eating processed food, sugar, dairy, grains or legumes, and I won’t be consuming any alcohol.
This is not my first Whole30, but this time I want to focus on a couple of specific elements: 1) fewer nuts as snacks and 2) fewer snacks in general. I would like to find the right mix of meals and pre-/post-workout fuel to keep me steady throughout the day.
If you’re doing a Whole30 or other challenge, if you are living/exploring the Paleo lifestyle, or if you are simply looking for some tasty recipes to add to your repertoire, be sure to leave a comment to let me know you’re out there! I am so glad you stopped by!

This week’s focus: Post-workout nutrition.
5:00 Black coffee
7:30 Sunshine beet greens, 2 eggs, 1/4 avocado
11:00 Post-workout roast beef wrapped around bell pepper slices
12:00 Ham and cauliflower mash
2:00 Pineapple
3:30 Meatloaf, banana, nuts
Food I was hungry this afternoon, which worked out well because I also had to work. I ate early and then was satisfied the rest of the night. I would have loved some veggies in the afternoon but didn’t have time to make them.
Mood I am still really busy with a lot of change taking place right now. My mood is mostly calm and I am able to stay focused and productive.
Sleep 7 hours. I know how important sleep is to the process of health. I am so glad that I at least get 7 hours. I feel energized throughout the day and don’t have any slumps (of course, this is also because I’ve been giving my body the right foods), but I can tell that I would benefit from that last hour. I’m thinking about ways to find it.
Activity Chest and arms – I am still sore from my workout the other day! I made it through but will need to emphasize cardio tomorrow and give my muscles a bit of a break.
Focus Post-workout snack: Applegate Farms has a Whole30 roast beef that I wrapped around a bunch of bell pepper sticks. I packed it with me and it was great! I will be interested to see if I feel more recovered for my workout tomorrow.
